Adega Regional Restaurant

The Adega Regional Restaurant is located in the historic center of Elvas and is considered one of the best restaurants in the city. Portraying a typical Alentejo wine cellar, it transports us back in time, recreating a comfortable and welcoming setting beneath 17th-century vaulted ceilings.

In the kitchen, the flavors of Alentejo are recreated, while the dishes maintain the region's flavors and authenticity. In an effort to showcase the Alentejo wine region, the Adega Regional Restaurant focuses on a selection of Alentejo wines, and traditional sweets are not forgotten, including the famous cericaia with Elvas plums.

Aconcagua Restaurant

Aconcagua Restaurant is located 500 meters from the historic center of Elvas, near a free parking lot. It is considered one of the best restaurants in Elvas. Its décor features unusual elements that create a unique and intriguing atmosphere, filled with vibrant colors and bold prints.

Aconcagua Restaurant prepares gourmet dishes, but without overdoing it, with portion sizes to suit your taste. It offers a varied menu with many options for all palates. It strives to differentiate itself by offering new dishes than those found in a typical restaurant.

The staff is extremely dedicated and friendly, providing fast, excellent service. We also recommend making a reservation in advance, especially on weekends.

El Cristo Restaurant

El Cristo Restaurant, located 2 kilometers from the historic center of Elvas, boasts a spacious space designed to comfortably accommodate a large number of diners. Numerous windows allow abundant natural light to flood the space and create a sense of connection with the outdoors. This is a pleasant space with free parking.

It has been recognized for over 40 years for the excellence and quality of its fish and seafood, which are selected with the highest quality standards to offer customers freshness and flavor in their dishes. The menu is varied, focusing on dishes with natural flavors straight from the sea.

Taberna do Adro

Taberna do Adro is located 15 kilometers from the historic center of Elvas, in Vila Fernando, next to the church. Its décor is typically Alentejo, with a rustic and cozy charm, reflecting the traditions and lifestyle of the region. Upon entering, you'll immediately notice the walls covered in traditional hand-painted ceramics.

Known for its Alentejo cuisine, Taberna do Adro offers flavorful dishes made with fresh ingredients that reflect the rich culinary heritage of the Alentejo region. The menu isn't extensive, but it offers all the best of the Alentejo.

We chose as starters the tiborna Alentajana (Alentajo tiborna), a typical delicacy consisting of a slice of toasted homemade bread drizzled with olive oil, and the fried farinheira (farinheira sausage), a delicious dish that, when removed from the pan, has a crispy, golden crust, while the interior remains tender and juicy.

For the main course, we ordered two dishes: fried chicken, which consists of shredded chicken pieces that are fried to a crispy, golden crust, while the meat inside retains its moisture and juiciness, and carne do alguidar (carne do alguidar), which consists of marinated pork pieces that are then slowly roasted in the oven at a low temperature for several hours.
